Attorney General Bondi’s Office Announces Sentencing of two Central Florida Gang Members to Combined Total of Nearly 19 Years in Prison
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.–Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that two gang members have been sentenced to a total of nearly 19 years in prison. In two unrelated cases, the Office of Statewide Prosecution prosecuted Danny "Midnight" Duran, a member of the SUR-13 gang, and Christopher "Fat Boy" Austin, a member of Cross-Fletcher Hot Boys gang.
“The Office of Statewide Prosecution will continue to work closely with law enforcement and State Attorneys throughout Florida to protect our communities from gang activity,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Duran, 22, pled guilty to racketeering, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, robbery with a firearm, and battery by a detainee. He has been sentenced to 13 years in prison followed by five years of probation. Austin, 26, pled guilty to racketeering, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, and failure to appear. He has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison followed by two years probation.
Duran’s case was prosecuted through a partnership between the Office of Statewide Prosecution and the State Attorney's Office for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit. Austin’s case was prosecuted through a partnership between the Office of Statewide Prosecution and the State Attorney's Office for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.
