~ Central Florida men believed to be armed, dangerous ~
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that his Office of Statewide Prosecution is searching for two fugitive gang members. Jesus Ravelo and Luis Gelpi are two members of the Latin Kings gang and are wanted on charges of criminal racketeering. Both men are considered armed and dangerous. The men are the top two fugitives currently listed on the Attorney General's Most Wanted website, http://www.myfloridalegal.com/mostwanted.
Yesterday, a multi-agency investigation resulted in the arrest of seven other gang members on racketeering charges, and three incarcerated gang members were also charged. Ravelo and Gelpi are being actively sought by several law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The gang members arrested yesterday were part of the Central Florida organization of the Latin Kings, a violent gang associated with heavy narcotics dealings throughout Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Polk counties. Those charged will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
Tips on Ravelo’s and Gelpi’s locations may be reported to local law enforcement or the FBI Tampa Office at 1-866-838-1153 (toll free). More information is available online at: http://www.myfloridalegal.com/mostwanted.
