Third Shift Gang Member Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

TALLAHASSEE, FL- Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a Manatee County gang member was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to criminal racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering. Terry Green, a member of the Third Shift criminal street gang that operated in Manatee County, must also serve four years of probation after he is released. The case is being prosecuted by The Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution under the jurisdiction of the State Attorney’s Office for the 12th Judicial Circuit.

Green, 21, and his fellow Third Shift members used their gang to control the drug trade in Manatee County. Other criminal activities tied to the gang include weapons charges and resisting arrest. Several members of the gang were arrested in May 2008, and Green was charged while already in custody at the Manatee County Jail on an unrelated charge.

Green is the last of 12 members of the Third Shift gang to be sentenced to prison terms ranging from eight to 60 years. His ten-year sentence will run concurrently with a three-year sentence he is presently serving for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
