Objectives
Regional Gang Reduction Strategy Task Force
The requested Objectives for each Regional Task Force are:
- Collect gang intelligence data from each county in the Task Force region and submit to the Office of the Attorney General no later than September 30 of each year. For the purpose of this Strategy, collect the name and geographical location of every identified criminal gang in the region, the number of members in each gang, and the nature and amount of criminal activity by each gang (as the number of arrests and convictions of gang members) for the past year. Designate a single member of the Task Force to
- oversee the collection of this gang intelligence data from the various sources, and
- establish quality control checks for the accuracy of the data.
- Compile a list of all prevention/intervention programs, services and other resources within the region that directly or indirectly serve youth who are at risk of gang involvement. Report this information to the Office of the Attorney General by June 30 of each year. Designate a single member of the Task Force to oversee the compilation of this data. All Task Force members should be called upon to contribute information and provide assistance in this effort.
The Regional Task Forces will not be statutory or official bodies of the state. Participation is completely voluntary. There will be no funding or material support from the state available to the Task Forces at the inception of this Strategy.
